The Three All-Time MLB Leaders in Home Runs

An MBA student at the University of Rochester, Joseph “Joe” Vessecchia is seeking to transition to a career in finance after spending more than 5 years in sales. He is expected to graduate in May 2021. Beyond his professional and academic pursuits, Joseph Vessecchia enjoys playing and watching baseball.

A total of 27 players have hit at least 500 home runs in Major League Baseball (MLB). Here are the three all-time leaders in that category:

Barry Bonds
A seven-time MVP and 14-time All-Star, Bonds hit 762 home runs from 1986 to 2007. He led the league in home runs in 1993 and 2001 and hit a career-best 73 during the latter season. He surpassed Hank Aaron in the final year of his career.

Hank Aaron
Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982, Aaron hit 755 home runs from 1954 to 1976. He is also the MLB all-time leader in RBI with 2,297, and led the league in that category for four seasons. He passed away on January 22, 2021.

Babe Ruth
A seven-time World Series winner, Ruth is affectionately known as The Sultan of Swat and hit 714 home runs in 2,503 career regular season games from 1914 to 1935. He played 15 of his 22 seasons with the New York Yankees.
